Sad to hear about AppleVis but happy to see this new site taking on the mantle. I wish it every success.
I would also like to let the community know about a new release of Weather Gods, 4.7.0. Apologies if this it not permitted or posted in the wrong forum?
This update adds active tropical storms and complimentary access to the historical storms archive, going back to 1851. Due to the nature of the data costs I have had to make the tropical storms feature part of the Premium subscription package.
Historical storms for 2024 are available on the Free tier and Premium subscribers get full access to the entire archive.
Tropical storms and the archive can be accessed via the Severe Weather Center and are not specific to any location.
I plan to add the ability to track a storm via notifications in the next release as well as bringing them to the Apple Watch.
As always, many thanks to our beta testers and translators with their help in creating this release.
I subscribed to this app for a while, and found it very useful. I had to quit my subscription for a while, but Iām thinking about going back. I like how the radar activity or storm activity rather seem to be represented by sound. As well as spoken. Honestly, this app kinda makes me think of the weather channel, which my stepdad when he was alive, used to check every half hour. I think it had something to do with him being in the military for 20 years but anyways. Keep up the great work and this is a great app. For anyone who has not tried it. I highly recommend you do so.
I would like to let you know, I just purchased the yearly subscription, as well as the additional $1.49 a month for access to all tropical storms and all storm reports. I think this is an amazing app, am in the process of learning swift playground myself right now, my hope is to one day make an app, obviously not the same as you made, but something else that will be just as valuable as this is. Thank you so much and keep up the good work. I also like the fact that people can get tornado reports for their area. I lived in Michigan at one point, and tornadoes were a regular occurrence. So that type of information would be extremely valuable to those people who still live in that area or other areas where tornadoes are, a regular occurrence, as they can be extremely violent and destructive.
